If you've installed iOS 11 on your iPad, then you've probably come face-to-face with the operating system's new keyboard feature, Key Flicks. To produce an accented character (like é, ë, è, ê, and so on), keep your finger pressed on that key for 1 second. Pressing the Space key will accept the auto-correction, but tapping the "x" or continuing to type will dismiss it.
